Terms of use
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These terms cover The Good Remote app and the helper dashboard at my.thegoodremote.com, both made by Liquid Monks LLC (United States). Using either means you accept them. They are written to be read, so they are short.
What The Good Remote is
A television app that shows a few large channel tiles, and a website a helper uses to choose those channels from their own phone. It is a player and a remote-setup tool.
It comes with no television content. We do not sell, host or supply any channels. The app plays what a streaming service you already have provides, using the address and sign-in details you or your helper enter.
Your streaming service is yours
- You are responsible for having the right to watch what you set up, and for following your provider's own terms.
- Your provider's sign-in details stay on the television (see the privacy policy). We never see them.
- If a provider stops working, changes its address or closes, that is between you and the provider. We cannot fix it from our side.
Helper accounts
- A helper account is for the person setting up televisions for somebody else, or for themselves. Keep its password to yourself; anyone who has it can change the channels on every television linked to it.
- Only link televisions you have permission to set up.
- You can remove a television, or ask us to delete your account, at any time. How is on Delete your data.
Free, and the optional More TVs subscription
Using The Good Remote is free, with every feature, for one television per helper account. Nothing that is free today will become paid.
Where it is offered, an optional subscription called More TVs lets one helper account link more televisions. If you subscribe:
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google, through the app store you subscribed in. We never see your card or bank details.
- It renews automatically at the price shown when you subscribed, monthly or yearly as you chose, until you cancel it.
- To cancel, use your Apple ID subscription settings, or Google Play under Payments & subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. It stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies.
- If it ends, nothing is unlinked. Televisions already on the account stay on it with their channels. Only linking another television stops.
- If the price changes, the store will tell you before a renewal at the new price, and you can cancel.
What we do not promise
We work hard to keep the app and the dashboard working, and we fix problems when we find them. But they are provided as they are, without a guarantee that they will always be available, free of faults, or suitable for a particular purpose — including as a safety or care device. Please do not rely on The Good Remote for anything where a failure could put someone at risk.
On a Google TV, the remote's Home button always goes to Google TV's own home screen, and no app can prevent that. The Good Remote is then one press away in the row of apps.
As far as the law allows, Liquid Monks LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using the app or the dashboard, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us, if anything, in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law does not allow to be limited.
Fair use
Do not use the dashboard to get at televisions or accounts that are not yours, try to break or overload it, or use the app to play content you have no right to. We may close an account that does.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. If a change matters for a subscription you already have, we will say so in the app before it applies.
